Virtual Makeup – Faking eye colors

This tutorial will teach you how you can easily change the eye color very simple way! For this tutorial, I’ve selected the below picture which you may save
and use for this tutorial. In case you are curious, its a picture of Indian celebrity Riya Sen.

Step 1: First thing you want to do is create a new empty layer from the layers menu.

Step 2: Now, from the Tools menu, change the foreground color to a somewhat strong bright color you would like to change the eyes to. For this tutorial, I have selected the color #017455. Keep in mind
that this new color will smoothly blend with your previous eye color creating an unique blend so there will be variation of shade. Through some experiment with different shade of colors, you will achieve
to your desire shade.

Step 3: Select the brush tool from the Tools menu.

Step 4: Right click over your image and a popup dialogue will appear that look like this:

From this dialogue menu, scroll half way through and select a brush size from the Soft Mechanical portion (bottom half of the list). I have selected the size 21 pixel so I can cover the eyes faster. Now,
go ahead and carefully paint only over the eye-balls. Its okay if it gets a bit messy! We’ll clean all that excess amount later. Here is how mine looks like:

Step 5: Now from your layers menu, change the blending mode to “Hue”. It depends mostly on what color you choose during step 2 but mostly “Hue” works the best. If “Hue” does not work well, then you may
select another blending mode and play around with opacity until your desired level of contrast is gained.

Once “Hue” is applied, here is how mine looks like:

Step 6: Using the eraser tool, carefully erase out excess color that leaked outside of the eye-balls.

Be careful around the edge of the eye-balls not to erase inside otherwise you will have some missing areas
and will look funny. Here is the final result:
